With UVision technology, your painted decoys will truly stand out, captivating passing waterfowl.

I painted these old vintage Herters decoys a year ago using Dixie Decoys paint kits. My son and I are going to make a hunting and fishing trip to Manitoba so I touched these up to get them ready to go. The Dixie Decoy colors are very true to natural colors and help make these old blocks come to life.
I recently bought 150 used duck decoys. They are quality decoys but not as colorful as they once were (see the photo of 3+ decoys, that is the before photo). I found Decoy Apparel online and purchased thirteen 8-oz cans in various colors to touch them up and make them more visible, vibrant and consistent. The second photo (with a drake and hen mallard) are examples of how the project is going. The drake is the same one that was the middle drake in the prior photo. The colors are vibrant, easy to work with, and look great. Now my mixed spread of mallards and pintails will be visible and look consistent.
All arrived in good order. I ordered an unpainted decoy kit, decoy heads, and paint it for a single decoy.
The deck is nice. Good detail. And well sanded. Ready for painting. There’s plenty of paint for the decoy and the touch it up or fix others. The heads look indestructible. Solid.
My little guy putting in that work painting his first decoy.
Quality paints.
My only recommendation would be to either put a dot of paint on the lid or cup or possibly label the color for the user. Each individual paint does have a number identifier from the supplier though.
Look what a little paint from Dixie Decoys will do to some old 1950’s style blocks? Hands down best decoy paint on the east coast and mainstream market today!
Great paint for decoys. Flat color and sticks very well. Great colors available in individual cans, 4 oz and 8 oz cans as needed. To me this is better than the kits they sell. Refer to their decoy chart for colors by duck species.
THE BEST paint out there! A little bit goes a long way and it dries to absolute, matte perfection! Cork, styrofoam, or plastic, this stuff gets the job done right.
Inherited some old decoys from a friend and this paint really brought them back to life! Definitely recommend. I've attached a before and after photo to show the transformation.
I just finished my old school ruddy using light brown and white Parker Paints. I think the paints work great for working and carving old school decoys. My thanks goes to Keith Hendrickson for his articles in Wildfowl Carving magazine and for getting me to use Parker Paints.
Took a over 100 year old decoy that was broken and had been in a house fire , and restored it for relatives it was my first decoy , but won’t be my last
I love using this paint, it dries nice and flat . You do need to mix it well. I love carving old style decoys and will always use this paint. Thanks to Keith Hendrickson for getting me excited about these decoys. Mike Collier
Just finished repainting a few spoon bill decoys today. One decoy in that group is brand new right out the box. The remainder I repainted no it’s not a factory paint job but it’s close enough for me.
Took a little bit to figure out how much to thin to use in my air brush but they are coming along great great time on delivery and great quality product
Product is good, colors are flat. A few colors are too close to each other in color and some need to better match real duck colors. Shipping is poor/fair
I had two Flambeau Magnum Mallard Drake decoys that were in need of some TLC. One decoy just needed some touch up while the other decoy obviously had never been touched since it left the factory!
The first decoy needed a little shading on the wing feathers. A 2" sponge brush and a couple of light strokes and it turned out fine.
The other decoy hadn't seen any paint touch up ever. I cleaned off the decoy surface with some odorless mineral spirits, let it dry, and then painted the decoy. It turned out to be a 100% improvement over the original factory paint job.
Two thumbs up!
Definitely worth doing if you have decoys that are in need of some "help".
I have ordered 3 different paint colors so far and love them all, they cover great and dry ultra flat i can't wait to use my decoys next season. This paint has taken my decoys from unusable to my best decoys by far
